Job Overview:
The Chaplain provides spiritual and emotional support to individuals, families, and communities within the organization they serve. This role is dedicated to offering compassionate care, guidance, and pastoral counseling to those in need, regardless of their faith background. The Chaplain ensures that the spiritual needs of all are met and that individuals are supported during times of crisis, illness, and other significant life events.
At iPreach Campus (IPC), we also recognize the value of integrating our Bachelor Diploma Program as equivalent education for individuals pursuing chaplaincy roles. Our program equips students with a strong theological foundation, pastoral care skills, and the spiritual leadership necessary for this role. This equivalent educational qualification from IPC provides the training needed to fulfill the responsibilities of a Chaplain effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Spiritual Care: Provide spiritual guidance, prayer, and counseling to patients, residents, staff, and families. Facilitate spiritual healing and growth by offering comfort and support in various settings, including hospitals, senior living facilities, and communities of faith.
Pastoral Counseling: Offer one-on-one counseling for individuals dealing with grief, illness, relationship issues, and other personal challenges.
Worship Services: Lead and organize religious services, ceremonies, and sacraments, including baptisms, weddings, funerals, and communion services.
Crisis Intervention: Provide immediate support during times of crisis, such as medical emergencies, end-of-life care, and traumatic events. Work alongside medical staff or other professionals to ensure holistic care.
Ethical Consultation: Offer ethical guidance and consultation on moral dilemmas and decisions related to medical treatment, end-of-life care, and other sensitive issues.
Interfaith Support: Respect and support individuals from diverse religious backgrounds by offering appropriate spiritual care or coordinating with representatives of other faith traditions.
Community Outreach: Engage in community activities and build relationships within the organization and the broader community. Support outreach programs and foster a sense of community and belonging.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and confidential records of all spiritual care provided. Document spiritual assessments, interventions, and outcomes according to organizational policies.
Team Collaboration: Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, pastoral teams, and other staff to provide comprehensive care. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and care planning.
Qualifications:
Education: A Bachelor Diploma Program equivalent from iPreach Campus (IPC) or a Master of Divinity (MDiv) or equivalent theological education from an accredited institution. Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) is strongly preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in pastoral care or chaplaincy within a church, healthcare facility, or community organization.
Ordination: Ordained or commissioned by a recognized religious denomination. Must be in good standing with the denomination.
Skills:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to provide non-judgmental and compassionate care to individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Proficiency in crisis intervention, counseling, and ethical decision-making.
Familiarity with religious rituals and practices, especially within the Christian tradition.
Cultural sensitivity and the ability to work with people of various religious beliefs and traditions.
Certifications: Certification from recognized chaplaincy organizations, such as the Association of Professional Chaplains (APC), National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC), or National Association of Jewish Chaplains (NAJC) is a plus.
Physical and Emotional Resilience: The ability to handle emotionally intense situations and provide calm, steady support in times of distress.
Working Conditions:
Work may involve being on-call for emergencies, including nights and weekends.
The position may require visiting patients or clients in various settings, such as hospitals, nursing homes, and private homes.
The chaplain may be exposed to emotionally challenging situations, such as end-of-life care and trauma, requiring strong emotional resilience.

Requirements
IPC Job Placement Program for students and staff at iPreach Campus (IPC)
1. Eligibility Criteria
For Students:
Must be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours per semester (full-time students) or at least 6 credit hours (part-time students).
Must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 for job placement support.
Completion of the IPC Community Service Program requirements.
Participation in career counseling and resume-building workshops offered by IPC.
For Staff:
Must be employed with IPC for at least six months.
Completion of professional development or continuing education provided by IPC.
Demonstration of commitment to IPC’s mission and values through regular performance evaluations.
Active involvement in community outreach initiatives.
2. Application Process
Registration: Students and staff must register for the program via the IPC Job Placement Portal. This involves submitting a resume, cover letter, and any relevant documentation.
Interview Process: Both students and staff will undergo an initial interview with IPC’s Career Services team to assess their skills, goals, and job placement preferences.
Placement Preferences: Applicants will provide preferences for location, type of organization (e.g., churches, non-profits, Christian institutions), and roles (e.g., ministry, administration, teaching).
3. Job Matching and Placement
Database of Vacancies: Maintain a regularly updated database of job opportunities, including those at Christian churches, hospitals, rest homes, senior living facilities, and other faith-based organizations.
Matching Algorithm: Use a job matching algorithm to align candidates’ skills, experiences, and preferences with available job opportunities.
Internship and Apprenticeship Opportunities: Offer internships and apprenticeships as part of the program to allow students to gain real-world experience in Christian ministry or other relevant fields.
4. Support Services
Career Counseling: Provide one-on-one career counseling to help students and staff navigate their career paths.
Workshops: Offer workshops on job search strategies, resume writing, interviewing skills, and workplace professionalism.
Mentorship Program: Pair students and staff with mentors in their field of interest who can offer guidance and advice throughout the job placement process.
5. Ongoing Monitoring and Feedback
Follow-Up: Conduct regular follow-ups with both the candidates and employers to ensure the placement is successful.
Feedback Loops: Collect feedback from employers and candidates to continually improve the job placement process and services.
Support Networks: Establish networks for alumni and placed staff to stay connected with IPC and offer mutual support.
6. Partnerships and Collaborations
Partnerships with Christian Organizations: Establish strong relationships with churches, hospitals, and other Christian institutions across the U.S. to ensure a steady flow of job opportunities.
Collaboration with Nonprofits: Collaborate with faith-based non-profits and other Christian service organizations to expand job placement opportunities.

Compliance: Ensure that the placement program complies with employment laws, including non-discrimination policies.
Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality of candidates' information and adhere to data protection regulations.
